Job Description


The Brand Communications Manager is responsible for developing external communications strategies, messages, and tools for Ryman Auditorium and other Opry Entertainment brands as assigned. The Brand Communications Manager will partner with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization to promote concerts and daytime tour experiences by elevating awareness of the Ryman Auditorium with likely visitors, past visitors, the entertainment industry and the travel/tourism industry.


Works directly with the VP of Corporate and Brand Communications to align communications strategies to the company's business goals and objectives. Partners with corporate communications, operations and marketing teams to ensure tight integration of PR and Marketing activities.
Works in partnership with corporate communications, venue operations and marketing teams to create annual public relations plans for Ryman Auditorium's Daytime Tour and Retail experiences.
Serves as key team member responsible for promoting concert announcements and related activities, including but not limited to credentialing media and photographers.
Composes and distributes media advisories and press releases.
Pitches Ryman related stories to local and national press and pitches the use of the Ryman for photo shoots, TV shows, etc.
Serves as the primary point of contact when the Ryman is used for press events, photo shoots and TV shows, etc. including scheduling and coordination.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with local and national media representatives as well as artist publicists.
Manages regular tracking and reporting of metrics across all communications platforms, analyzing and fine-tuning strategies as necessary.
Directs the day-to-day and long-range activities of external PR resources.
Serves as on-site contact for select nighttime events.
Assists with other live entertainment publicity as assigned.
Performs administrative tasks such as coding invoicing and monitoring department budgets.
Performs other duties as assigned.



Bachelor's degree or related experience required preferably in Journalism, Communications, or English


Five years of experience of increasing responsibility in public relations or publicity; agency or music industry experience a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Outstanding written and verbal communications skills and ability to influence and partner with internal and external audiences.
Strong knowledge of local and national music industry media landscape and demonstrated experience partnering as a trusted resource.
Ability to engage across multiple levels and functions within the organization.
Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
Able to manage multiple projects and tasks, various internal clients and a fast-paced/on-deadline environment.
Proficiency and desire to work with necessary technologies for advanced communications: PowerPoint, Photoshop, social media, etc.
Ability to work unpredictable hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
