Job Description This Back-up Courier/Janitor/Kitchen Helper primarily serves as a backup or fill-in for the main courier driver, which provides safe, reliable, efficient and prompt transportation for personnel and mail items around the Valdez Marine Terminal. ABILITY TO: Prepare and serve hot and cold menu items to students and staff at an assigned school site. Assist with cooking and baking various food items. Maintain food service facilities, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition. Wash, cut, slice, grate, mix and assemble food items and ingredients. Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently. Follow health and sanitation requirements. Communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Work independently with little supervision. Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others. Understand and follow oral and written directions. Maintain routine records. Meet schedules and time lines. Operate a POS system and make change accurately. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Any combination equivalent to: one year experience in quantity food preparation. LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Valid ServSafe Certificate. WORKING CONDITIONS: ENVIRONMENT: Food service environment. Subject to heat from ovens. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Standing for extended periods of time. Hearing and speaking to exchange information. Lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling moderately heavy objects as assigned by position.
