Responsibilities + Check cafeteria area periodically to make sure all is continually stocked and everything is full/working. + Continually wipes and cleans dining room and other associated areas. + Observes any problems with the quality or quantity of food being served. + Assists customers as needed requested with general information, inquires, etc. + May assist other employees in the food service area to help out as needed + Assists cooks and others as needed. + Coordinates personal duties as required by the overall food service operations. + Maintains a variety of products at certain levels in preparation, serving, or storage areas including service machines. + Restocks salad or soup station during service as is needed. + Stocks storage areas with various products. + Washes objects by hand or with cleaning equipment. + Cleans dishes, utensils, pots, pans etc. and places in assigned storage areas in a an organized and orderly manner. + Cleans, sweeps, wipes down, etc. all general dining, kitchen, or storage areas (in some cases), spike rooms, and equipment as well as all floors. + Removes garbage from assigned areas, sets up or breaks down tables, snack bars, display cases, serving lines etc. + Assists with various periodically scheduled large cleaning projects. + This position is not responsible for the supervision of staff. + Other duties that are pertinent to the department or unit's success also may be assigned. Qualifications Minimum Requirements + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + Municipality of Anchorage Food Handler's Card or ServSafe Certification contingent upon 30 days of hire. + At least six (6) months of related food service experience. + Contract requires employees to speak, understand, read and write English.
