Job Description

Position Objective: To ensure that W&W Dairy produces a safe and high quality product that meets all federal, state and customer regulations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain W&W Dairy's Quality Assurance Program
  • Conduct Internal Audits to assure we meet BRC, FDA and customer specific requirements
  • Conduct periodic plant inspections to make sure our program is being followed by staff
  • Take samples of finished goods and Work in Process to send to the lab for testing
  • Create an environmental monitoring program to eliminate deficiencies in our Cleaning/Sanitation Program.
  • Conduct Traceability/Recall tests and make changes as needed.
  • Perform periodic calibration of all thermometers, scales and metal detectors.
  • Review/Monitor the 3rd party Pest Control Company
  • Maintain W&W Dairy's HACCP Plan
  • Conduct root cause analysis when issues arise.
  • Conduct monthly management meetings to keep senior management aware of any issues.
  • Make recommendations to senior management on how to fix any issues that arise with food safety and quality.
  • Maintain Supplier Approval Program
  • Make sure all suppliers have up-to-date documentation as required by the BRC/FDA/State
  • Ensure all labels are kept up to date for nutrition/allergen requirements
  • Conduct On-Boarding process for any new suppliers
  • Ensure W&W Dairy staff are following proper procedures for receiving raw materials from our suppliers
  • Training
  • Conduct Food Safety/GMP training for all staff. Both new hires and refresher training.
  • Attend any relevant training classes to remain up to date on any changes to regulatory requirements.
  • 3rd Party Audits
  • Conduct 3rd party audits with BRC, FDA, State and customers.

Skills and Abilities

  • Experience with maintaining quality assurance programs
  • HACCP/FISMA Training
  • Strong planning and organizational skills required
  • Experience complying with GMPs
  • Supervisory skills; demonstrate leadership by influencing others through effective communication, individual technical knowledge, and training
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal hands on coaching and direction
  • Must be able to function as a team player in the local management structure
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
