The Hospitality Associate acts as a liaison between the patient, family and nursing staff to translate a verbal food selection order into electronic tickets sent to the kitchen. The Hospitality Associate utilizes professional phone etiquette and appropriate scripting to conduct incoming calls from internal and external customers. These incoming calls consist of patient meal selections, nursing inquires, inter-departmental inquires, meal scheduling, and additional questions regarding food and nutrition department services. Follow up calls are conducted based on specific patient needs such as diet progression, interface issues between EMR and nutrition department services. In addition, the hospitality associate must have baseline computer skills and advanced knowledge of variety of diets and food selections. Utilize and process EMR diet orders and subsequently enter information in the nutrition management system.
