NHC objectives are: 1) decrease barriers for people who are Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and other identities who have been historically underrepresented in health leadership (women, LGBQITA+, people with disabilities, etc.) to become health/public health leaders in the future; 2) decrease health disparities through addressing social determinants of health, including underlying structural oppression in communities plagued by histories of racial and economic inequities; and 3) improve organizational efficiencies, community engagement and reach of services addressing social determinants of health.
