Act as a "bridge" between management and hourly team members to facilitate restaurant operation (e.g., keep managers apprised of hourly team members' activities, issues, challenges, etc.). Collaborate with management to develop and carryout ideas and procedures to continuously improve team performance. Enforce compliance with company and mandated standards (e.g., safety, OSHA, department-specific procedures, SNHD regulations). Work with management to recognize and celebrate hourly associate performance contributions (e.g., department-specific recognition programs). Manage basic human resource issues/concerns of hourly team members enlisting the support of management as needed (payroll, work hours, etc.). As an hourly team member's first point of contact, provide fair and consistent assistance. Conduct day-to-day shift supervision and oversee restaurant operations (e.g. assign positions, coordinate breaks, manager checklist completion, counting safe, etc.). Serve as an individual contributor and department role model by performing technical or functional job duties (e.g., accounting, food preparation, room preparation, sanitation standards). Assist in working toward positive financial results through waste control, labor control and guest satisfaction. Assist in maintaining a highly motivated and well-trained staff. Maintain a safe and sanitary work environment for all team members and guests. Be on the floor during entire meal period and ensure adequate coverage (except during your breaks). Ensure that only a quality product is being served. Ensure all side work is done as required. Monitor uniform standards with yourself and team members to include health cards. Continually inspect all areas of the venue to ensure any/all maintenance tasks get communicated to management and completed. WHAT YOU'LL DO The primary responsibility of the Pool Cabana Host is to ensure complete customer satisfaction by providing the highest quality of service to our cabana and daybed guests and their food and beverage needs. All duties are to be performed in accordance with the company's policies and procedures. ROLE EXPECTATIONS Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Greets and welcomes all cabana guests in a pleasant and professional manner and escorting them to their cabana or daybed. Assisting guest with food and beverage choices/menus, taking food and beverage orders accurately, delivering orders promptly. Accurately, and professionally deal with cash/credit transactions, aid cabana guests with requests, and cabana/pool deck cleanliness. Continuously seek service opportunities. Respond to and resolve guest complaints. Answer guest questions and possess knowledge about property events and attractions. Work closely with bar staff, runners and kitchen staff to coordinate the delivery of food and beverage orders to the appropriate location. Provide friendly and professional service to guests, assisting with any additional requests or inquiries they may have. Communicate any special instructions or guest preferences to the bar and kitchen staff to ensure the correct preparation of orders. Provide fast (20 minutes or less round time), friendly, professional beverage service to pool guests; carry full trays on every round. Take drink orders, communicate with the bartender, assist in the preparation of drinks, and present drinks to guests. Maintain a clean and well-stocked workstation. Handle money according to procedures. Serve as an ambassador of goodwill while working and at customer and public relations functions; appear in publicity photos. Work well with others, especially beverage servers, bartenders, barbacks and the beverage supervisor. Provide personalized service and use guests' names. Resolve service problems according to guidelines. Meets the attendance guidelines of the job and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies. Fulfill any other related duties as assigned. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This position does not have any supervisory responsibilities. REQUIREMENTS At least 21 years of age. High school diploma or equivalent. One-year previous high-volume food and beverage experience. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills. Must be able to initiate and engage in conversation in a professional and friendly manner. Must present a professional and pleasant appearance that guests will find appealing and approachable in order to engage in conversation. Must be able to work any day of the week and scheduled shift.
