EHN Prairies Inc. a new 60-bed inpatient addictions treatment facility, located about 20 minutes northwest of Regina and will provide adults 18 and older with holistic, wrap-around inpatient addictions treatment for up to 16 weeks. Position Summary: The cook is responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to recipes and quality standards. This position requires knowledge of various cooking techniques, ingredients, and equipment, as well as the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high levels of cleanliness and food safety. Responsibilities/duties include: Prepare ingredients for cooking, including washing, chopping, and measuring as necessary. Cook menu items in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards. Monitor food temperatures and ensure that all dishes are cooked to the appropriate level of completion. Coordinate timing of cooking to ensure that all dishes are prepared and served simultaneously. Adhere to food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times, including proper handling and storage of ingredients, as well as regular cleaning and maintenance of kitchen equipment. Assist with inventory management by monitoring stock levels and notifying management when supplies need to be replenished. Collaborate with other kitchen staff to maintain a smooth flow of operations during busy periods. Follow all instructions and guidelines provided by the head chef or kitchen manager. Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, and disposing of waste properly. Attend training sessions and staff meetings as required. Other duties as required Qualifications: Proven experience as a cook in a restaurant or food service establishment. Knowledge of cooking techniques and culinary terminology. Ability to follow recipes accurately and consistently. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and teamwork skills. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
