This is a Full Time position with 3rd Shift hours. Weekend availability is required.

SUMMARY

• Protects and safeguards all AHC hotel guests and associates, their belongings and all hotel assets.

• Respond rapidly to requests for emergency and non-emergency assistance in a professional manner

• Acts as on-site Manager on Duty for all Security related matters within all locally based AHC Properties.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Position will work various shifts at multiple hotel properties. Due to the demand of the hospitality industry, this position will require flexibility in scheduling to meet the demands of the business to include weekends, holidays, and occasionally hours outside of normal scheduled shifts Wednesday - Saturday 4pm-2am.

• Responsible for the efficient and professional running of the security department, including relationships with other departments.

• Ensure that Security Supervisors are managing all shift activity, including reports and incidents, patrolling, dispatching, and completing various logs/files on activity on a daily shift.

• Lead by example: Provide a gracious and aggressive hospitality towards all customers. Be highly familiar and adhere to all policies, procedures and standards.

• Works with Safety Committee that will educate and communicate throughout hotel.

• Recognize and report safety hazards

• Handle all outstanding guest/associate concerns in regards to life safety or property damage/loss and report all necessary items to Director of Security

• Ensure compliance with hotel and security SOP/LSOP

• Observe and report any security breaches

• Ensure staff is conducting daily physical hazard inspections and daily patrols and completing all reports.

• Assist all associates with questions, problems which might occur.

• Create a productive and positive atmosphere throughout the hotel; have a good relationship with all associates and other departments.

• Empower all associates to provide an outstanding service by using their empowerment guidelines.

• Be a problem seeker and solver.

• Ensure that staff keeps work area clean, neat and organized.

• Plan meetings with AHC security team on a consistent basis.

• Ensure that all safety and security supplies are well maintained.

• Determine weekly schedule, adjust according to business demands.

• Complete work or special projects as assigned and make sure to meet due dates.

• Work with Security Director and HR on potential new hires.

• Know how to hire, train and develop loss prevention staff.

• Work in conjunction with corporate security director for all security items pertaining to AHC.

Daily Responsibilities:

• Report to work on time with proper uniform, including name tag. Personal appearance must comply with the standard uniform of the hotel.

• Check the daily event sheet is up to date and informed about daily operations.

• Develop a thorough knowledge of the products, including hotel rooms, type of rooms, amenities, services of hotel, etc.

• Develop knowledge about frequent guests and their special requests and needs.

• Also be familiar with cultural differences in order to meet all different customer needs.

• Have PMS, SMS, Lenel and Saflok skills.

• Be able to work according to budget; keep constant eye on staffing level and control costs as much as you can.

• Be knowledgeable about etiquette and protocols.

• Have a good knowledge about the city and the environment.

• At all times strive to represent AHC in the most professional, courteous manner.

• Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching and lifting 20+ pounds are required for this position.

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

• Ability to influence and resolve conflict.

• Ability to interact with senior management.

• Demonstrate leadership abilities to create a team-based department.

• Ability to speak to large audiences.

• Knowledge of AHC s Loss Prevention Standard Operating Procedures and the various brands in which it operates.

• Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching and lifting 20+ pounds are required for this position.

• Prolonged periods of standing and walking.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be able to run, walk, and stand for upwards of 8 hours.

• Must have ability to ride a bicycle with traffic.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

Vehicle operator s license

Tips certification is preferred

CPR/AED/First Aid Certified. Or must obtain certification within first 90 days.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• related experience is preferred.
