- Implements programs within given functional area of the food safety and quality group under limited supervision.
- Responsible for supporting the implementation of relevant processes and procedures, and the daily execution of activities related to their functional area.
- Helps lead, direct, support, and manage as appropriate, plant s food & personnel safety efforts to ensure that the facility complies with State, & Federal regulations, policies, and procedures.
- Achieve Research, Quality, & Innovation food and personnel safety objectives in a safe, legal, efficient, cost effective, and high-quality manner.
Position Responsibilities •Leads the plant s FS&Q early management activities. Works closely with RQI and platform resources to ensure vertical startups of new initiatives. •Understands and leads CPS activities as it relates to FS&Q Journey map within the plant. •Understands and incorporates MOPD tools to ensure successful initiatives. •Gather and evaluate data using SPC to understand trends and issues to provide input to decisions related to product safety and quality in areas of assigned responsibility. •Assist or supervise others in the organization within assigned technical areas of responsibility. •Provide technical and decision-making support and/or data analysis in managing situations and issues relative to quality and/or food safety. •Collaborate and provide technical support to appropriate functions and employees to assure, food safety and quality of company products. •Gauge and evaluate effectiveness and assure continuous improvements in assigned areas of responsibility. •Designs, implements, and/or helps maintain key quality systems (ie: Infinity, Quality Index, FM tracking) •Designs and implements processes and procedures within assigned technical area(s) of responsibility. •Participates on cross functional teams to assure effective implementation and adherence of QA initiatives and process improvement of our suppliers, under limited supervision. •Performs assigned technical tasks/duties associated with department processes and procedures. •Interfaces/provides technical support to appropriate functions and employees to assure regulatory compliance, food safety and quality of company products. •Interfaces with company facilities to facilitate an ongoing effective relationship with packaging material suppliers. •Communicate effectively with managers, directors, and senior leadership to update and relay pertinent safety information and solutions as appropriate. •Adapt to change and continually strive for self-improvement through study, training, etc. •Maintain complete and accurate records for all the above responsibilities as appropriate. •Plan and execute food & personnel safety programs to ensure a safe and accident-free work environment.
Position Qualifications •Bachelor s Degree or equivalent combination of relevant education and/or experience. •Relevant experience--2-5 YEARS in the food processing industry. •Complete understanding of Food Safety Guidelines/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safe practices and procedures •Complete understanding of HACCP Plans •Understanding of government regulations (FDA, USDA) •Proficient at Microsoft office programs including word, excel, power point, etc. •Relevant training in food & personnel safety including traceability, sanitation, pest control, JSAs, LOTO, hazard analysis, etc. •Troubleshooting, data analysis, and investigative skills required.
