This cross-functional position has an emphasis on organizing and streamlining communications, as well as telling the Portillo s story - both as a world-class restaurant brand and an Employer of Choice - by working with several departments and audiences.


Greatness

  • Maintain editorial calendar for internal and external publications
  • Draft weekly announcement emails for field, support center and commissary (Portillo s Foodservice)
  • Ensure consistent use of templates for all outgoing materials
  • Support maintenance of company communications calendar


Family

  • Participate in cross-functional workgroups and supporting different department needs
  • Own and execute weekly company e-Newsletter, The Hound
  • Own and execute company career blog, Dog House Diaries
  • Perform ad hoc tasks for the PR and comms team, as needed
  • Facilitate translation of key employee-facing communications into Spanish


Energy

  • Seek out influencers for tastings and partnerships
  • Identify internal Team Members to participate in Portillo s social media and marketing videos
  • Move with urgency and passion while maintaining attention to detail
  • Reorganization and relaunch of Field Materials Database
  • Support launch of Content Management System
  • Ongoing management of Content Management System

Fun

  • New Restaurant Opening support, including info gathering and preview events
  • Help develop agendas for support center and field meetings
  • Support rewards and recognition program
  • Perform ad hoc tasks for the executive team and organization, as needed


Requirements

  • Great listener who can evaluate and consider a range of perspectives, then translate information into concise, engaging and reliable written and verbal communication
  • Able to connect with all levels of the organization and build constructive relationships
  • Capacity to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
  • Demonstrate professional maturity, including the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Ability to be hands on in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly motivated and detail-oriented
  • Bi-lingual (Spanish speaking) preferred
  • Degree in Communications, English, Public Relations, Journalism or related field preferred
  • Previous communications or PR experience preferred
  • Restaurant or multi-unit organization experience preferred
  • Proficient in Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Windows Operating System, intranet systems and content management platforms
  • Previous experience with Sprout Social and/or Asana a bonus
  • Comfort with all social media channels
