Job Description

Event Specialist → Event Manager

Austin, Texas, United States

Events & Venue Team reporting to Sr. Event Manager

Over two years you will become one of the most well-respected event producers in Texas, executing some of the biggest and most innovative events in Austin and at SXSW while gaining experience recruiting, training and managing a direct report.

After two years working with startups and building your reputation with the help of Capital Factory, you will receive a one-month, paid sabbatical to figure out your next step - you can pursue a career in the Venture Capital industry, join a high growth startup as one of the first employees, be promoted to Events Director at Capital Factory, or launch your own event production company.

You will learn the ins-and-outs of the Capital Factory Playbooks that have been refined over the past dozen years and helped to build one of the most vibrant startup communities in the world. Then you'll make them even better.

During your first year you will be paired with an Event Manager who will mentor you and show you the ropes. During your second year, you will be promoted to Event Manager, owning major programs from end-to-end and finding the next Event Specialist to take under your wing. Previous Event Specialists have gone on to become managers and directors at Capital Factory and other leading entrepreneurship organizations.
