Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION:

 

The Line Cook is to prepare food to the exact chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu execution upon shift and pre service. Line cook duties will consist of assisting the chef with their daily tasks, while maintaining a clean kitchen and abiding to all food safety regulations. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals, while maintaining a professional demeanor. 

 

REPORTS TO:

 

Chef de Cuisine, Sous Chef

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies while following station preparation list
  • Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces) before and after service
  • Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to restaurant and the Chef’s standard
  • Answer, report and follow chef’s instructions
  • Clean up station, sanitize and take properly store food
  • Responsible for maintaining all cooler and freezers clean, sanitized and organized
  • Stock inventory appropriately according to order guides and prep lists
  • Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion in accordance to industry and restaurant standards
  • Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
  • Responsible for utilizing proper FIFO procedures
  • Stores incoming inventory according to Chef’s and industry standards
