Major Function:

The Sales and Marketing Director leads a sales team of 3 professionals to recruit, maintain, and service clients. You would develop innovative marketing strategies to drive the Hotel's position in the market. As the face of the sales team, you get to enjoy front line interaction with our guests, who come to us from all over the country and even the world. Essential Functions:

Develops new business through shifting accounts from the competition, further development of existing accounts, and contacting potential clients who are new to the market.


Leads and develops an outstanding group of sales and marketing professionals. Responsible for ensuring training needs are met, as well as day to day supervisory responsibilities.


Develops direct sales plan within assigned market responsibilities. This is to include the development of sales programs to solicit business by contacting representatives of government, business associations, and social groups through direct sales (both personal calls and phone solicitation) and direct mail/promotional efforts. Sales plan to yield agreed upon room night revenue from assigned market responsibilities.


Makes pricing strategy recommendations; establishes group rate parameters; monitor group selling strategies in alignment with the sales Budget.


Ensures accurate follow-through of communications on customer needs through agreement letters, customer correspondence, and appropriate inter-regional communications to reservations and property management.


Keeps existing business monitored and satisfied. Is responsible for customer satisfaction through pre-and post-evaluations with customers. Frequent phone and personal visits to existing accounts and other customers. Follows-up group comment forms when appropriate.


Supports use of promotional customer programs. Develops and implements regional and hotel-specific promotions. Oversees the Hotel's digital media presence.


Maintains awareness of competitive market positions and programs and implements appropriate marketing and sales plans/targets to ensure successful performance of each assigned property. Develops competitive survey to measure market share and changes in the competition.


Develops quarterly sales forecast recommendations and targets for success and local market assignments.


Develops strong rapport with customers acting as the liaison with customers and property management.


Budgeting: Produces yearly revenue budgets and sales department expense budgets. Provides Monthly Forecasting for budgeting purposes.


Produces yearly marketing plan.
