We are looking for the right person to fill our PM Technician role providing preventive maintenance to our customers. We are a company that is growing and exceptional PM Technicians have the potential to be trained to become Full Service Technicians.

Headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, Kappus Company is a distributor and servicer of top quality restaurant equipment from leading manufacturers. This position will be based in the Columbus, Ohio area.

Duties and responsibilities

Disassemble and re-assemble equipment. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, overhauls and troubleshooting all types of restaurant equipment.
Adjusting, aligning, assembling, calibrating, inspecting, lubrication and testing of commercial food equipment, electrical/mechanical and electronics troubleshooting.
Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment to perform service of the unit.
Develop solutions that are in the best interests of the customer.
Order parts and complete required paperwork.
Communicate effectively with customers, field supervisor, dispatchers and employees.
Responsible for vehicle inventory and appearance.
Complete all work tasks in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with company safety standards.

Skills Required

Ability to diagnose commercial cooking and refrigeration equipment performance through observation, testing and setup.
Electrical and mechanical experience a plus.
Ability to learn new technology and maintain equipment following procedures and specifications.
Ability to give and take written and verbal instructions.
Ability to accurately complete documents to verify work performed.
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.


Must meet one of the following requirements:

Accredited High School diploma/GED (Technical School preferred).

Must possess valid state-issued driver's license. Ability to safely operate a company motor vehicle as evidenced by past driving performance record. Must adhere to all company safety requirements. Must be able to drive a minimum of six hours per day.
Able to travel and attend training schools (as applicable).
Able to use a handheld device for submitting and receiving work orders.
Ability to effectively communicate with the customer.
Ability to work independently, under pressure, and without close supervision; willing and able to consistently work the schedule required by the job demands.
Must be organized, accountable and self-motivated.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift 50-75 lbs. with or without assistance.
Able to lift, carry, pull and push components and/or equipment to test, setup or maintain equipment.
Exposure to noise, heat, cold, slippery and wet conditions.

Job Type: Full-time - hours will be 7:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m Monday-Friday
