In this role you will:Be a menu expert, follow Smashburger's prep and menu recipe standards to prepare guest orders Reading, preparing and cooking food orders to specifications is a must! This ensures guest satisfaction, gold standards and minimizes wasteBe a team player. Must be able to work with others on the line and communicate effectively with Guest Service Experts (GSE) and managers in a busy restaurant environmentEnsure all food items are rung in prior to preparing orders; but be flexible to verbal instructions being called back (sometimes GSEs or guests get the order wrong from intake - we are all human)Have pride in maintaining cleanliness of kitchen floors, equipment and counters at all times with the use of company approved cleaning productsOperate large cooking equipment such as grills and deep fryers; must be capable of using knives and slicing equipment with proper PPEFollow checklists and proven systems to set up, stock and close the kitchen Learn new recipes and procedures to support marketing promotionsAssist GSEs in managing dining room cleanliness and efficient food delivery, and other duties as assigned by management Foster and value a safe work environment by following all personal and food safety and security standards Cook RequirementsNo experience necessary - we build better skills! Job Description Overview The Server is responsible for providing timely and professional meal service to residents and guests, bussing and resetting tables, general cleaning, and completing assigned side work while adhering to all food safety and sanitation requirements and maintaining a safe and orderly work environment. Complies with OSHA requirements/British Columbia Workers Compensation Act and Occupational Health and Safety Regulation and Risk Management programs and policies, adheres to safety rules and regulations, and practices safety procedures at all times including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), fire extinguishers, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and Lockout Tagout procedures. Responsible for performing other Dining Services duties when assigned by community leadership in the following areas, but not limited to: Dishwashing tasks to properly wash and sanitize all dishes and china, silverware, glassware, utensils, and cookware. Light janitorial duties, including but not limited to sweeping work areas, sanitizing production areas, and emptying trash. Prepares and serves light meals in a timely manner and in accordance with established standardized recipes and menus. Assists with food preparation and plating when necessary. Uses Sunrise systems per guidelines for order taking and meal delivery to ensure accuracy. Collaboration, Engagement, and Team Success Actively participates and commits to working toward team goals. Demonstrates our Team Member Credo in daily interactions. Commits to serving our residents and guests through our Principles of Service. Contributes in the overall engagement programs for both residents and team members. Attends regular meetings; Town Hall, Department Team, Cross Over, and others as directed by the Dining Services Coordinator (DSC).
