Our client Harris County, Health System is in need of a Cook to work at LBJ Hospital,


You will need to TAKE A TB SKIN TEST(we will pay for the test)


* LOCATION: Houston, Tx 77026


* PAY RATE: $ 15-17 an hour depending on experience


* MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS


Cook will wash large, heavy pos and pans. Will sanitize the kitchen, including work surfaces, the floor and cooking material. Will cook large quantities of food according to recipes given by the Harris County health system. Cook should also understand that the nature of this position requires me to stand or walk for the majority of my work shift, which will be up to 12 hours, I am physically fit for standing/walking. I certify that I do not have any physical limitations nor health conditions that prohibit me from working this job. I certify that I have cooked using commercial -grade equipment in a commercial kitchen before. While working at Hospital, I understand that u will be in a customer service position dealing with Doctors, nurses, sick patients, the Elderly and children. LBJ is located to the bus line. At any times I may work shifts when there is no bus available.

Job Requirements:
  • Maintain stock in kitchen and food prep areas
  • Ensure all food on line
  • Prepare food items prior to cooking
  • Organize food storage and kitchen equipment
  • Prepare food according to food handlers guidelines
  • Go into what a line cook be doing at the grill
  • Arrange food on serving dishes
  • Maintaining, setting up, producing food and controlling quality of all food items prepared in the cook station
  • Work on a hot line and cold line stations
  • Ensure that the kitchen, all food prep areas and all food storage areas meet restaurant cleaning standards/li
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards and presentation standards
  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklist
  • Complete training hours as required by policy
  • Prepare and cook basic food items in a cafeteria or restaurant environment
  • Work the line and cook all food items and meals in accordance with planned menus and recipes ensuring all meals and food
  • Inspect all food sent from the kitchen
  • Maintain designated food station(s)
  • Assist in establishing food service production line
  • Rotate among grill, saute, fry and cold food stations
  • Work in a team-oriented, high-volume, fast-paced, guest-centric environment to deliver Genuine Western Hospitality to guests
