Job Description: Principal, Data Steward The Role Fidelity Data Architecture is looking for a Principal, Data Steward to join the growing Data Management Center of Excellence to support the Universal Identification Product Area. You will be a critical part of delivering solutions that enhance the effectiveness, usage, protection, and value of data within this domain. You will establish and document policies and procedures to ensure proper use of data while enabling cross-Enterprise insights through analytics. You will provide robust data stewardship services that help set develop Enterprise standards. You will work with multiple teams on data sharing, data management platform adoption, implementing data policies and standards, and data cataloging. In this role you will have responsibility for the following: Act as Data Steward for the Universal Identity (UID) /Unified Customer Profile (UCP) domains Implement Data Governance policies, standards, and procedures for Universal Identification data Oversight of activities, reporting and support of UID/UCP Data Custodians Drive tool adoption including content creation, enrichment, enhancements and influencing usage Support Data Owner and partner with Data Stewards Adopt Enterprise Data Management Tools including Data Catalog and Data Governance Develop effective Data Sharing artifacts ensuring the appropriate usage of data Advance key initiatives focusing on a relationship-based approach Contribute to establishing Data Lineage and Data Quality capabilities Share successes and efficient practices with a community of professionals Prioritize delivery of capabilities and services that mature the Product Area's Data Governance adoption Influence new and existing processes to account for Data Governance The Expertise and Skills you bring: Possess 5 to 7 years' experience acting in the capacity of a Data Steward or Data Owner Knowledge of a customer facing data domain Solid grasp of data governance practices and a track record of implementation Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional team environment Experience with Data Management practices and technologies such as Collibra, Alation, BigID, Informatica, Manta, etc. Solid grasp of Data Engineering practices and technologies Proven expertise in agile methodology and associated technologies (e.g., JIRA) Superb communication and experience in an environment of continual change Ability to influence business leaders and decisions Strong problem-solving and analytical skills Expertise in the documentation of policies, standards, and procedures Ability to thrive in a highly skilled team environment Knowledge of industry regulations and compliance requirements related to data governance Expertise with operational responsibilities with large multi-stakeholder initiatives The Value You Deliver: Establish effective data governance policies, standards, and procedures across domain Defining and maintaining applicable data standards with partners Creating and managing a business glossary and data catalog for all managed sources Ensuring alignment with policies, applicable regulations, and industry practices Partnering with business and technology teams to enhance the data governance office and maintain an effective roadmap Providing guidance and training on data practices and policies Building and maintaining relationships with multi-functional teams across the organization Establishing key performance indicators and metrics to measure success of the program Being adaptable and open to change in an exciting and fast-paced environment Effectively communicating and driving requirements between business and technology partners Ensuring business units initiative solutions are aligned with data governance standards The Team The Data Management Center of Excellence is part of the Firm Foundation neighborhood. The CoE is comprised of Champions, Specialists and Stewards who enable some of the most impactful initiatives in support of our Enterprise Data Strategy. We work closely with Data Scientists, Data Architects, Data Operations and partners across FDA and its partner technology and business groups. The team also frequently interacts with various Business Units who have similar Data Governance programs across the Enterprise.
