I am a third-year student at Drexel University studying hospitality management. I speak conversational Spanish, I do a lot of work with the National Society for Minorities in Hospitality.
I started working here as an internship requirement for my university, I was working full time on the Ceviche station which also included salads and desserts. After working at this station I also learned the hotline side of the line which included grill, fry, and sautee. At the end of my internship, I was hired on in the front of the house as a part-time bartender.
I coordinated with hotel reservations to accommodate tour groups of up to 300 for dining in the Obsidian Dining Room. Assigned seating charts, server sections and side work for front of house staff. I worked hotline alone for both a la carte and buffet dining. Assisted in preparation for dinner service and staff meals, and created signature dishes that ran as specials on the menu.
I worked as a liaison between the front of the house and the management. I planned schedules, assigned sections, and side work. I was also the face of the restaurant, I greeted guests, answered the phone managed the reservations and wait lists.
