The Housekeeping Supervisor will give guidance to Housekeeping Team Leaders and Housekeepers to ensure completion of all goals and missions set forth by the Facilities department and the SMC. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Assist in promoting brand loyalty by engaging in exceptional customer service to both our external and internal customers. Interact with guests by answering questions, providing information, greeting guests, and assisting whenever possible. Oversee assigned Housekeeping Team Leaders and Housekeepers. Ability to perform all essential duties listed under the Housekeeping Team Leader and Housekeeper job descriptions. Implement sound management concepts and practices. Work in a team concept to accomplish daily, weekly, and long term duties and functions. Record all housekeeping and sanitation activities in department journal. Work with management to ensure department requirements are met. Give safety instructions and necessary training to new and existing team members. Ensure essential equipment, parts, and chemicals are on hand for team members, are properly identified and labeled according to the SDS, and are in safe and proper working condition while being utilized before projects begin (i.e. hard hats, back braces, safety glasses, etc.). Ensure proper safety precautions are followed (i.e. caution tape, hazard signs, etc.). Maintain thorough understanding of the recycling program. Perform walk through of all areas to ensure proper completion. Keep team members updated on proper procedures, techniques, materials, and equipment. Monitor and document all team members attendance calendars and personnel files. Perform other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department. Supervisory Responsibilities Directly supervises 20-25 Housekeeping Team Leaders and/or Housekeeping team members in the Facilities department. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving issues. Education/Experience/Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required. Continuing education college coursework preferred. Minimum two (2) years Housekeeping or Casino experience required. This can be substituted by extensive experience in an industry requiring supervision of a large hourly workforce. Minimum of (1) year Supervisory experience preferred. Minimum one (1) year union experience preferred. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Word Perfect, Excel, Outlook). Must have exceptional typing and penmanship skills. Certificates/Licenses/Registrations Must possess a valid drivers license with acceptable driving record as determined by the insurance carrier. At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license. Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions Environment The physical demands and working environment described here are representative of those that an employee encounters and must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Incumbents may be required to work evening, weekend and holiday shifts. Must be able to work in a fast paced, high demand environment. Strength sufficient to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects and/or move up to 25 40 pounds occasionally. Physical activities that apply to the essential functions of the position are: Balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, talking, hearing, repetitive motions. Hearing sufficient to hear conversational levels in person and over the telephone. Speech sufficient to make oneself heard and understood in person, in front of groups, in meetings, and over the telephone. Visual Acuity that best describes the requirements of the position: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection of employees, visitors or facility. Mobility sufficient to safely move in an office environment, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, and enter, exit and operate a motor vehicle in the course of travel to promotional events, meetings, conferences, trade shows and San Manuel properties. Endurance sufficient to sit, walk and stand for extended periods, and maintain efficiency throughout the entire work shift and during extended work hours. The employee may be exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate. Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles including secondhand smoke.
