Role: As a key member of our hospitality staff, our Bartender must ensure the bar and front of house operations operates smoothly, with sufficient stock and staff at all times. The ideal candidate in this position must thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, maintaining a courteous demeanor with customers, as well as effectively make use of downtime. Strong leadership and personnel management skills should be accompanied by a customer service orientation and commitment to company values and image. The Bartender pays close attention to all operational details to ensure the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of guests and job satisfaction of staff, as well as the financial success of the establishment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure proper cash management. Embraces ECHO Teamwork values Comply with proper key handling procedures. Resolve customer complaints promptly and ensuring guest satisfaction. Practices Lean Management principles as an integral part of the operation. Ensures that hotel brand standards and SOP's are consistently implemented. Check with guests to ensure satisfaction with each food course and beverages. Adhere to safe working conditions in compliance with OSHA, SDS and ADA laws. Oversee the preparation of beverages and ensure the quality of product served. Anticipate guest's needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests, however busy and whatever time of day. Effectively manage a team, ensure action plans and goals are attained while consistently providing quality service. Responsibility for the creation of cocktail menus and Update menu changes on the Point of sale (POS) terminal. Be familiar with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately. Oversee cleanliness of staff and physical bar area, paying special attention to possible health hazards and code violations. Ensure that staff report to work as scheduled. Report and document any late or absent associates to Food and Beverage Director. Adhere to all procedures and policies established by the company, including but not limited those contained in the associate handbook. Inspect, plan and ensure that all materials and equipment are in complete readiness for service; rectify deficiencies with F&B Director. Monitor bar inventory to ensure adequate stock is maintained and to prevent excess pours or abuse by staff. Requisition purchases as needed by following companies purchase order procedures. When evaluating a bar's stock, it is necessary to take finances into consideration as well in order to strike a balance between overspending and under-stocking. Administrative Responsibilities: Ensure that all Front of House staff is properly trained to the department's standard operating procedures. Review sales and beverage costs for the previous day; resolve discrepancies with Accounting. Track actual against budget. Assist the Food and Beverage Director in interviewing, and selecting of Front of House staff while ensuring that new associates complete their new hire paperwork. Prepare weekly work schedules in accordance with staffing guidelines and labor forecasts. Adjust schedules throughout the week to meet the business demands. Complete nightly shift closing procedure which includes but not limited to Close out all FOH check-outs and collecting any monies owed to the hotel.Counting all cash revenueBalancing cash drawerComplete nightly business reports and email to senior management.Ensure all closing duties are upheld by all associates. Additional Responsibilities: Maintains professional standards of dress and grooming which reflect a professional image. Present a professional demeanor to guest and staff at all times, even when under pressure. Follows company policies and procedures for associates regarding disciplinary steps, personnel files and information, and labor and payroll. Have a thorough knowledge of emergency procedures and implementation as well as recognizing and correcting potential safety hazards. Maintain a positive working relationship with others through leading by example, demonstrating self-confidence, energy, and enthusiasm. Report to a senior management team member, such as the Food and Beverage Director and/or General Manager, on all inventory management, expenditures, staff performance, and customer satisfaction. Qualifications: Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Applications. Excellent time management, networking, and interpersonal skills. Minimum of two years food and beverage service background required. Take a proactive approach when dealing with guest concerns utilizing the L.E.A.R.N model.
