Nevada City Winery represents the rustic history and elegance of Northern California. As the oldest operating winery in the region, the founder is attributed to revitalizing the wine industry in this foothill appellation. Proud of its origin and connected to its roots, Nevada City Winery has purchased grapes from local growers to produce award-winning wines dating back to 1980. This winery is ingrained in the historic downtown region of Nevada City. Its structure rests nestled between the same brick buildings and Victorian houses laid down by hopeful miners in the gold rush of 1849. It remains only two blocks away from the garage where the business began, still surrounded by the same towering cedars and pines of the Tahoe National Forest. True to its origin, the winery's premises is home to both the wine making operation as well as the tasting room. Tastings are available daily so guests can enjoy a sample of our award winning wines and our laborious love for fine wine making. Nevada City Winery currently has 27 wines in its portfolio and continues to crush every year. The winery has earned much acclaim, earning hundreds of awards since its opening and continues the tradition into the twentieth century.
