About The Team The DoorDash Kitchens team is responsible for launching and operating DoorDash's New Delivery Models including shared 'dark kitchens' for restauranteurs looking to expand and grow their business. This is a small and scrappy team helping scale DoorDash Kitchens. About The Role This is a kitchen operations and management role wearing many hats, whether it's helping a merchant tactically improve operations, hiring and training Sr. and Jr. Operations Associates, or maintaining the kitchen facility and overall infrastructure. We are looking for a hands-on and humble builder who has experience creating a great team culture and running a successful front or back-of-the house operation in a restaurant, hotel, retail or grocery shop, event facility etc. What You'll Do... You'll lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a shared-use, commercial kitchen housing multiple restaurant operators, ensuring that food orders are quickly going out to delivery drivers with 100% accuracy. You will support our operators and manage multiple employees that work in the kitchen to make sure they are successful, upkeeping the facility and maintaining food safety compliance at all times. Delight Merchant, Customers, and Dashers. Create a culture of hospitality that supports our restaurant partners operational needs, such as maintaining their menus and systems, troubleshooting IT issues and communicating with customers. You are someone who is customer-focused and seeks to delight our customers and dashers with a high-quality experience. Managing, training and coaching. Hire and train the day-to-day operating team. This includes running team meetings, scheduling, and conducting performance management in addition to developing our training documentation and playbooks. You will directly manage 5-6 Sr. and Jr. Operations Associates. Facility Management. Manage regular cleaning and maintenance schedules and cost with vendors, oversee health and safety of the kitchen facility and overall - ensure that the kitchen infrastructure is in good working condition. You are interested to work at the intersection of technology and food, and are a people person! You have 3-5 years of experience running an operation. You've succeeded in fast-paced environments (whether in restaurant, hotels, large retailer or a related experience) and have managed front of the house teams where administrative, operations and facility management make up the day to day job. You're flexible, comfortable with technology and learn quickly. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in startup-like environments where technology is core to the day to day. You are proactive in creating and implementing changes to "the way things are done" and previous IT experience, including intermediate knowledge of mobile apps and Google Suite of Products are strong pluses! You're process and detail oriented and a solid writer. You don't hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail. You have written training manuals/Standard Operating Procedures before, and are comfortable creating deliverables that document new processes to improve overall efficiency and operations. You're self-motivated, positive, and a hard worker. You work well with others, and you bring a great attitude to your work each and every day. You have high integrity and are available some nights and weekends. You're caring and enjoy people management. You've built a team before and lead by example, inspiring your team members and motivating them to be 1% better everyday.
