Summary of Job: Dishwashers hold the responsibility of cleaning all the dishes, glasses, silverware, and cooking supplies for chalet cafeterias. They need to operate the dishwashing machine or wash dishes by hand scrubbing and rinsing pots, dishes, and other elements used in a kitchen. A dishwasher must keep the dish room and dish machine in clean working order while scraping sorting, and stacking dirty dishes, loading them into the dishwashing machine. Once the cleaning operation is complete, dishwashers will unload the dishes placing them in designated areas to be reused again. Dishwashers may be responsible for stocking both cleaning supplies as well as food items for the kitchen and service floor for customers and co-workers, such as napkins, condiments food items and bottled beverages. Dishwashers are also asked to clean up around the restaurant and assist other staff members as needed. Essential Job Responsibilities: * Operation and cleaning of dishwasher machines and / or triple compartment sinks * Place clean dishes, utensils, or cooking equipment in designated areas * Preventing cross contamination by keeping dirty and unsafe dishes and clean dishes separated * Maintain kitchen and work area equipment and utensils in clean and orderly condition * Stock supplies, such as food or utensils, in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, or grab n' go areas as needed * Sweep, mop or scrub floors in dish pit, and back hallway daily * Sort, remove, and clean organics, recycling, and trash receptacles placing color coded waste bags it in designated pickup areas - waste bags are as follows: green is for organics, black is for trash and clear is for recycling * Transferring equipment from storage areas to work stations and vice versa * Cleaning the floor and walls around their station * Offer help to cooking staff and other coworkers * Wipe down and clean the dish rack and utensil shelves as needed * Create and maintain a productive and safe work environment, including the completion of all company mandated safety-related training and assessments. * Assist bussers as needed during peak business and down time * Assist other departments, as needed. * Adhere to and role model the company's mission, vision, and values.
