Join Chefs Kirsten and Mandy Dixon for a summer of adventure in Alaska summer of 2019. At Within The Wild Adventure Company, we believe in quality in all things we do and this is especially true in our kitchens. In our award-winning fine-dining kitchens, we prepare our foods from scratch, we use local Alaska products when possible, grow seasonal gardens, and serve innovative and exciting cuisine to both our guests and to our staff. Chefs in our kitchens are professionals who work closely together as a team to create seasonal menus that are some of the most innovative cuisine being served in Alaska. Our chefs are part of our leadership and management teams. We look for chefs at Winterlake Lodge who can contribute to our guests' Alaska adventure, can work in a remote environment successfully, exhibit advanced professional skills, and take pride in 'at the stove' work. We hire 2 chefs that work in a team, one pastry chef and one intern. Winterlake is a beautiful remote and wild lodge located near the Alaska Range mountains. Our nearest neighbors are 30 miles away. We are looking for someone to join our team at Tutka Bay Lodge, along the ocean. We have a unique setting both nestled in tall old-growth Spruce trees and ocean. The lodge is set at the entrance to a deep 9-mile fjord within a State Park. Imagine the fresh fish we get here! We have a cooking school at Tutka Bay as well. Tutka Bay Lodge is located 25 minutes by boat from the seaside village of Homer, Alaska. We have a forager on staff at our lodge... Our position requires both some recreational culinary teaching (i.e. sociable interaction) with our guests and working in our lodge kitchen preparing cuisine for our guests and staff. We work approximately 10-12 hours per day. .. Our cuisine emphasizes global inspiration utilizing local products. Positions run from June 15 to the end of September but there is a possibility to join us year-round.
