Job Title: Food Court Cook - Asian Cuisine FLSA Status: Hourly Reports to: Food Court Manager Festival Foods is now hiring part-time and full-time cook and chef roles at our new Hartford Store's Asian Cuisine Food Court. If you are passionate about cooking, food prep, and providing guests with freshly prepared stir fry and Asian cuisine, we'd love to talk with you! ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Provides excellent guest service by greeting guests, answering customer questions, and receiving and preparing guest orders Follows recipes to prepare and cook food; and cuts, chops, slices, meat and produce in preparation for cooking Utilize wok, deep fryer, and rice cooker to prepare protein and vegetables for guests Ensures that all dishes are prepared in a fresh, quality, and timely fashion Monitor product freshness and rotate product according to schedule Maintains cleanliness of food preparation area, food safety and sanitation standards Maintains proper inventory levels in Food Court storage Addresses guest concerns and resolves issues by practicing the boomerang principal Ensures high standard quality control by inspecting, rotating, maintaining proper temperatures, and replenishing all deli products on display Retrieves supplies from storage areas, coolers, and freezers Package cuisine for grab-and-go meal opportunities for guests Other duties as assigned Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with guests and all personnel Good oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a highly stressful environment Complete understanding of all safety requirements and company safety policies Must possess the ability to apply on-the-job safety training to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises. Also requires proper training and knowledge of the following equipment/procedures: slicers, proper lifting techniques, trash compactor, and baler Knowledge of the retail food business, thorough knowledge of perishable department operations, merchandising skills, and must be able to make timely and effective decisions PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Lifting up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis Full range of upper body motion Must be able to work at a fast pace May be exposed to extreme temperatures WORK SCHEDULE The Food Court Cook is an hourly position The shift to be worked will vary, including weekdays, weekends, and holidays Hours scheduled will typically between the hours of 10a-7p Festival Foods serves guests in over 30 full-service, state-of-the-art supermarkets throughout Wisconsin.
