The team… As the Executive Chef you will be a part of the management team and leader of the kitchen department. The team prides themselves in collaborating with local farms and producers. Food first and focused on delivering seasonally influenced and innovative dishes in fast paced environment without scarifying quality results. The role… At Soho House the Executive Chef is responsible for planning, organizing and leading the Kitchen Department according to company policies and New York state standards. A successful Executive Chef will strategically partner with the Head Chef, NA and General Manager to deliver an approachable, consistent and elevated dining experience. A successful candidate will work well under pressure and in fast-paced environments but also excel in analyzing cost and quality of food production. Responsible for preparing and maintaining the kitchen budget as well as assuring the highest standards for health, sanitation and safety standards necessary in food handling and overall cleanliness. Main Duties… Lead by example and deliver effective and efficient dining experiences by leading kitchen operation and food production. Train safe work habits and alert the staff to notify the chef on duty of any dangerous or unsafe places in the work area at once. Implement and maintain all standards set by the Company; establishes the manner and means to train staff according to standard. Produce and maintain the highest food quality and controls for all food products served in all areas. Execute top-quality food experiences through menus, recipes, methods, pictures and specifications are followed Ensure updated signage and food displays for creativity, quality, cleanliness and food safety are displayed Assure timely set up, schedules well trained cooks in all areas in proper uniform Ensure teamwork and proper communication with the front of house staff Accommodate special request and dietary restrictions Collaborate with Marketing/Events department on menu creation, food preparation, food costs, quality food service and product are delivered. Delegate daily tasks to staff to ensure smooth operation and service whilst prepare and develop staff for growth. Shares the overall responsibility of proper storing procedures, food orders, food cost, equipment, sanitation and hygiene to Company and New York state standards Responsible for staff schedule, payroll, and other administrative tasks as required Requirements Required Skills/Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent trade school certification 5+ years' experience in a related position Food Serve Safe certification Strong knowledge of New York state sanitation regulations Excellent written and verbal communication Must possess a good work history, stability & desire to support the business as an operational contributor Excellent cooking skills and can taste all foods to assure correct preparation Experienced in training and leading team as well as production of large quantity food; preparation and excellent knowledge of quality food operations Product cost and quality conscious Physical Requirements: Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands Must be able to work on your feet for at least 10 hours Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift of up to 50 pounds on occasion and 35 pounds regularly Occasional environmental exposures to cold, heat, and water.
