The Billy Graham Evangelistic Association is a nonprofit organization that directs a range of domestic and international ministries. From its headquarters in Charlotte, N.C., the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association directs a wide range of domestic and international ministries, including: large-scale festivals led by evangelists Franklin Graham and Will Graham; The Billy Graham Library; The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove, located outside of Asheville, N.C.; SearchforJesus.net, an Internet evangelism project reaching thousands of people for Christ online; and many others through print, television, telephone, radio and the Internet. The Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove (BGTC) was founded in 1987 by Billy and Ruth Graham to offer a retreat for people to leave the demands of daily life to study the Bible. The mission of the BGTC is "Training People in God's Word to Win Others to Christ." The Dining Host / Hostess serves our guests at the Cove with the highest standards possible while following guidelines and procedures found in the "Food Services Handbook.' This is an associate position, located at the Billy Graham Training Center in Ashville, North Carolina, with a requirement of 19 hours a week up to 999 hours a year. It does not include benefits. Job Requirements: Ministry Requirements Maintains a personal, active relationship with Jesus Christ and is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ. Faithfully upholds BGEA in prayer. Participates in daily BGEA staff devotions as schedule permits. Demonstrates behavior aligned with BGEA's Mission Statement, Statement of Faith, Hallmarks, policies, and expectations. Sets positive example of service and integrity at all times. Effectively represents Jesus Christ to those within both personal and professional spheres of influence. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in preparation and set-up of the dining room Help maintain a neat and clean dining room Help keep the hostess areas clean and neat Serve our guests courteously and efficiently Marginal Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the kitchen as needed Serve food in other locations as needed Other duties as assigned by Guest Services Manager Reporting Relationships Reports to the Food Services Coordinator Job Specifications Skills and Knowledge Ability to communicate well one-on-one and in group settings Commitment to hospitality and excellence Ability to work independently without close supervision Willingness to take initiative and be a proactive problem solver Ability to analyze and make decisions based on BGTC protocols Maintain confidentiality where appropriate Ensures a clean and neat uniformed appearance while working Physical/Mental Demands Ability to move easily and stand for extended periods of time Ability to lift 35 pounds Extended daily, evening and weekend hours may be required Working Conditions Conventional dining room environment Benefits Employees filling associate positions are allowed to work up to 1,000 hours a year (calendar/sequential) and are not offered any benefits.
