CS proudly provides Montana State University students with not only a repertoire of various cuisines, cooking styles, and flavors, but a comfortable atmosphere to meet friends, study, and simply relax. The division is comprised of 2 residential dining halls, 9 retail operations, Brick Breeden Fieldhouse and Bobcat Stadium Concessions, Fork in the Road food truck, MSU Catering, Indulge In-House Bakery & Salads, and the Farm to Campus Program. The dining halls serve over 10,000 meals per day and are open 7 days a week from 7am - Midnight providing breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Late Night Bites. Specialty dinners are served multiple times a month highlighting Montana Made, holidays and other special events, and student/parent recipes. Duties and Responsibilities This applicant pool is for the Barista and Cook I positions. Baristas skillfully prepare specialty drinks for customers in the coffee shops. Cook Is actively work in the production of fresh meals for customers and skillfully work in display cooking areas. Both positions actively contribute to the team by performing other duties as needed in support of the department's mission. Required Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills All relevant education and experience that you submit in your application will be considered. Basic professional cooking skills and/or basic barista skills or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Experience providing excellent customer service. Preferred Qualifications - Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills The Successful Candidate Will Positively and professionally perform all the functions of the position while providing excellent customer service Prepare a wide variety of recipes in mass quantity Exhibit interest in the culinary arts and exercise critically good judgment concerning taste, palatability and aesthetics of food quality Exhibit strong communication skills Work well individually or with a team Consistently exercise initiative and good judgment Exhibit accurate record keeping skills Prioritize and organize workload in order to complete tasks in a timely manner Quickly adapt to changing priorities Follow health and sanitation guidelines for food preparation and handling Work effectively and efficiently in close cooperation with CS staff in a team-oriented environment Position Special Requirements/Additional Information 10 month positions. Shifts vary across departments, 7 days per week during the academic year. All positions are eligible for full benefits 12 months of the year. May work evenings, weekends, long hours, consecutive days during busy periods, and occasional holidays as the school and event schedule demands. May occasionally work outside and in inclement weather assisting with special events. Serve Safe certified or have the ability to become certified.
