As 2018 Perishables Vendor of the Year Award for Whole Foods Market and as a supplier to other leading retailers across the center part of the country we have experienced significant success. You as leader, will develop and structure an HR department that produces strong secure staffing and will focus on a culture which grows and supports team members and also the community in which we live and work. As a leader in the natural and organic sector of fresh chicken, our engagement with people, integrity of product, and unique attributes in production process have earned us the title "The National Perishable Supplier of the Year" from Whole Foods in April 2018. Other customers have also honored us because of our product, service, and team members. We care deeply about our customers and poultry and for that reason we provide a product that is antibiotic free, vegetable fed, organic, air-chilled, CAS humane stunned, and non-GMO fed fresh chicken. Since 1980 we've enjoyed continuous growth, never experiencing a cutback or downsizing. For this reason, we are currently searching for an HR Director that can help grow the company, a person creative and confident with his or her decisions, and someone that is competitive and a trailblazer. This person needs to bring leadership to the HR department while maintaining and encouraging our core values which include "treating others as you would want to be treated, maintaining humility in relationships daily, practicing continuous improvement, and working together as one family". This position offers opportunities for putting one's own stamp on advancing and creating structure of the existing talented staff in the Human Resources department. It allows for both autonomy and creativity in growing the HR department to complement the other areas of the company. Formulating and developing overall HR strategy including growing leadership, creating and building culture, meeting compliance and safety expectations, and assuring long term staffing of positions are paramount in this position. This creativity and expectation may include planning for transportation and even housing for production level team members. Located near South Bend, Fort Wayne, Elkhart, and Goshen Indiana, our area represents a population of roughly 500,000 people. Chicago and Grand Rapids are 2 hours away. Several universities such as Notre Dame, Western Michigan, Goshen College, Purdue/IUSB, and Trine offer educational, music, and cultural opportunities. Many recreational opportunities also exist with lakes, parks, and nearby rails to trails linear parks. Entertainment opportunities include various live music venues and theater options as well as many superior restaurants. HR senior director responsibilities and opportunities include: Oversight of company-wide recruitment, job evaluation, benefits administration, employee development, training, safety programs, compliance, and special projects. Develop strategy to build a supportive "we care about you" atmosphere for the benefit of both Miller Poultry team members as well as caring about and supporting the communities in which we live. Engage, inspire and align a strong existing HR department team.
