This is a Part-Time position working a set schedule including every other weekend and some holidays. Shift: Afternoon/ Evening

Starting Pay: $14.26 per hour

Cook responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional service to residents by providing fast, friendly and excellent customer service to all guests.
  • Prepare and cook all meals to ensure adherence to recipes and quality standards.
  • Inspect kitchen for conformance to government and company safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Review planned meals and take note of special diet requests.
  • Observe and report on low stock or high-demand choices.
  • Assist in orders and schedules delivery of food and supplies from local vendors.
  • Observe and report on resident change of condition or changes in ability.
  • Participate in meetings and required training to maintain regulatory standards of food service at the community.
  • Complete food prep for the next day and assigned cleaning.
  • Perform additional tasks as required.

Cook skills and requirements: 

  • 1-2+ years experience in institutional and/or quantity cooking equivalent preferred, but not required.
  • Steady work experience required.
  • Must be willing to be cross trained in other areas in food service (dietary aide).
  • Leadership skills preferred, will fill in as a supervisor in absence of management team.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Ability to work independently and follow instruction.
  • Ability to multi-task and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with others. 
  • Selected candidates are required to pass background checks.
