Job Description

We are excited to welcome a Lead Benefits Specialist to our beautiful office in Atlanta, GA.

As a Lead Benefits Specialist, you will support the administration of the organization's benefits plans and programs (i.e., group health, 401k, dental, vision, disability, FMLA, workers compensation, life insurance, and flexible spending account). This position assures compliance with the organization's policies and practices and local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA).

What youll do:

Monitor multiple aspects of the benefits plans and programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, Health Savings Account (HSA), Dependent Care Account (DCA), Flexible Spending Account (FSA), disability, Life/Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD), 401k, Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA), Workers' Compensation, etc.) to support accuracy and timeliness
Serve as point of contact for benefits inquiries and troubleshooting to maintain a positive work environment by researching, analyzing, identifying root cause, and resolving issues and discrepancies in a professional, timely, and courteous manner
Coordinate COBRA notifications between former associates and providers, and serves as point of contact for related inquiries
Maintain and track time off for FMLA, short-term disability, and workers compensation to ensure compliance and accuracy
Supportthe new hire onboarding and annual enrollment for benefits by coordinating materials (i.e., enrollment guides, summary of benefits and coverage handouts, summary plan descriptions, etc.), giving presentations, supporting enrollment configuration, and vendor coordination
Serve as a point of contact and provides administration for:

Leave of absence programs (e.g., FMLA, Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act [USERRA], workers compensation, disability, personal leave, etc.) including payments for continuation of benefits during a leave of absence
Workers compensation programs, encompassing triage with associates, managers, and carrier, providing completed forms for the carrier, and assisting with claims adjudication and return to work process
Health Savings Account

Escalatequestions or issues on eligibility, coverage, changes, and other benefit matters
Maintain benefit records, files, and information (e.g., status changes, associates' benefits selections and eligibility dates, enrollments) and monitors benefit deduction data in HRIS to ensure accuracy for payroll processing, benefits enrollment/eligibility, and vendors
Assist in the research and analysis of current benefits programs to provide recommendations for program enhancement
Collect data from multiple sources and generates reports to summarize findings
Conduct monthly audit and reconciliation on data in a timely manner
Support the audit preparation of the 5500 filing and discrimination testing, in accordance with plan documents, established policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
Assistwith regulatory compliance and reporting as required by the PPACA, Internal Revenue Service, and other regulatory agencies
Assistin researching required actions necessary by new regulations to comply with applicable laws and regulations
Provides technical support/troubleshooting of benefit enrollment system, to include testing for annual enrollment, project management of annual enrollment configuration, weekly enrollment file feed support, and daily/weekly enrollment support
Supportmonthly payments to multiple vendors and weekly fund distribution for claims payments
Must be able to travel; approx. 3%
Requires valid drivers license

About you:

Bachelors degree required or equivalent experience
3-5 years benefits plan experience required
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Must have a positive attitude, strong customer service and follow through skills
Highly motivated individual that is a self-starter and able to manage changing priorities in a fast paced environment
Attention to accuracy and detail in processing information
Good oral and written communication, organization and analytical skills are necessary
Desire to learn new tasks in a dynamic environment
Ability to multi-task in a timely and professional manner and prioritize daily work load.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Proficiency in Windows based computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel)
Ceridian experience is a plus
Requires valid Drivers License
