The Brand Communications Manager is responsible for developing external communications strategies, messages, and tools for Ole Red and other Opry Entertainment brands as assigned. The Brand Communications Manager will partner with key stakeholders inside and outside the organization to promote in-venue experiences, including live music programming, food and cocktail offerings, and special events for this rapidly growing brand. This position will work with property-level PR, marketing and operations resources to ensure brand-wide message consistency while also celebrating the regional differences of each location. The Communications Manager will be responsible for elevating awareness of Ole Red at the local, regional and national level with likely visitors, past visitors and the entertainment, hospitality and the travel/tourism industries.
Works directly with the VP of Corporate and Brand Communications and to align communications strategies to the company's business goals and objectives. Partners with corporate communications, operations and marketing teams to ensure tight integration of PR and Marketing activities.
Works in partnership with corporate communications, venue operations and marketing teams to create annual public relations plans for the Ole Red brand and each location that underscore brand standards while highlighting regional variations. Seeks out opportunities to reinforce Ole Red's relationship with other Opry Entertainment brands and retail extensions.
Serves as key team member responsible for promoting concerts and related activities, including but not limited to credentialing media and photographers.
Composes and distributes media advisories and press releases.
Pitches Ole Red to local and national press and pitches the use of Ole for photo shoots, TV shows, etc.
Serves as a primary point of contact when Ole Red is used for press events, photo shoots and TV shows, etc. including scheduling and coordination.
Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with local and national media representatives as well as artist publicists.
Manages regular tracking and reporting of metrics across all communications platforms, analyzing and fine-tuning strategies as necessary.
Directs the day-to-day and long-range activities of external PR resources.
Serves as on-site contact for select events.
Performs administrative tasks such as coding invoicing and monitoring department budgets.
Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or related experience required preferably in Journalism, Communications, or English
Five years of experience of increasing responsibility in public relations, media relations, or journalism; agency or hospitality industry experience a plus
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills and ability to influence and partner with internal and external audiences.
Strong knowledge of local and national media landscape and demonstrated experience partnering as a trusted resource.
Ability to engage across multiple levels and functions within the organization.
Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
Able to manage multiple projects and tasks, various internal clients and a fast-paced/on-deadline environment.
Proficiency and desire to work with necessary technologies for advanced communications: PowerPoint, Photoshop, social media, etc.
Ability to travel and work unpredictable hours, including nights and weekends as needed.
