Job Description

Bayview Retirement Community is looking for a motivated, hard working, professional cook to join our team. The position is part-time with the possibility of a full-time status. Hours available are 5am-1:30pm.

The Cook is responsible for preparing a variety of foods, including foods for special dietary needs, such as meat,vegetables, salads, desserts, and soup using various methods of cooking; measures ingredients to ensure use of proper amount in recipe; operates/maintains kitchen equipment used in food preparation including oven, grill, steam table, fryer, deep fryer, slicer, mixer, grater, blender. S/he assures that food served to residents, guests and staff has an appealing appearance, palatable temperature, savory aroma, and delicious taste. S/he ensures that meals are prepared in a timely manner and in adequate quantity.

Requirements:

* Current Washington State Food Handler's Permit & Prior Work Experience in an Assisted Living or healthcare facility preferred.
* Applicants must have excellent interpersonal skills, a commitment to teamwork, and enjoy working with a diverse group of people.
* Experience with institutional cooking work involving the preparation of a large volume/variety of food and experience with cooking according to special dietary needs is a definite plus
