Job Description The primary focus of the position is to lead ship hotel refurbishment projects for the New Builds & Refurbishments department. The Project Manager is responsible for the planning, development and execution of large-scale projects including conversions, revitalizations, addition of cabins and balconies, ADA and Hotel Repair and Maintenance, among others for the CCL fleet within specifications, budgets and schedules in international shipyards and dry docks as well as in service. Motivate, coach, counsel and discipline all management personnel according to Highgate Hotel S.O.P.'s and ensure that managers are in compliance with the standards in their administration of counseling and disciplinary steps. Ensure that all employees receive fair and equitable treatment according to Highgate Hotel S.O.P.'s. Meet clients on the property, including meeting contacts and potential clients touring the property, to assist in the sales effort. Be in the public areas during peak times, greeting guests and offering assistance as needed. Ensure procedures for handling of the hotel safe specifically with regard to security and monthly safe audits are followed and occur. Ensure monthly credit meetings are conducted and take an active role in the hotel credit and collection policies. Complete required corporate training modules, and become certified to train those as required. Ensure that all scheduled meetings take place on the property. Qualifications: At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience; or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience. Prior big box hotel experience required. Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times. Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner. Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests. Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines. Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner. Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings. Participate in M.O.D. coverage as required. Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate Hotel Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel. Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include wearing nametags. Comply with Highgate Hotel Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations. Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions. Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary. Must be able to understand and evaluate complex information, data, etc. from various sources to meet appropriate objectives. Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information. Long hours sometimes required. Light work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. other duties as requested by management.
