Corporate Operations Controller

Department: Accounting and Finance

Reports to: CFO


Atelier Ace is an in-house, full service creative agency that develops and operates hotels both domestic and international. We have offices in Los Angeles and New York City and have hotels in the US, Europe and forthcoming in Japan, Australia and Canada. Inspired by people and places, we design the worlds we want to live in through collaboration, curiosity and doing things with intention and considered care.

We're currently seeking a dynamic Senior Accounting professional to join our team in New York City. This position will direct and support the Directors of Finance [DOFs} on our properties.


- Assist in overseeing the accounting and finance operations of all managed hotels

- Help recruit and on-board new DOFs and ensure their continued success

- Work with and advise the property teams to produce accurate reports

- Work with pre-opening teams to create and manage budgets

- Establish and maintain books and records of hotels during pre-opening

- Assist the Development team prepare proformas for potential projects

- Ensure timely filings with various federal and state agencies (such as Department of Taxation and Department of Labor) for new hotels during pre-opening

- Establish and revise company Standard Operating Procedures [SOPs] and best practices on an on-going basis

- Visit managed properties and assess internal controls and adherence to SOPs

- Research new regulations that may apply to the corporate office and/or managed hotels

- Seek new technology and opportunities that may benefit the company

- Work with the IT team to implement technologies where applicable

- Assist managed hotels during external and regulatory audits

- Oversee monthly forecast preparation and assist with annual budget preparation

- Review property monthly reports and balance sheet reconciliations

- Participate in financial and operational meetings

- Coordinate month-end and annual budget schedules

- Perform special projects as needed


- Bachelor of Science in Accounting with 5+ years of accounting experience in hospitality

- Strong accounting and mathematical skills

- Ability to prioritize work assignments and follow up on a timely basis

- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to establish strong relationships

- Knowledge and understanding of Atelier Ace culture and initiatives, alongside their brands Ace Hotel, Sister City and Maison de la Luz

- Ability to travel throughout the year and work flexible hours

- Possess a sense of humor
