You must **love** working off-site events. Catering is a lot of hard work but successfully preparing food for 50 to 500+ people at an event is a rush! It's what we do well! We put on great events for our loyal customers! PAY This position will involve a combination of kitchen prep and event shifts each week. Schedule varies week to week. Kitchen pay ranges depending on experience while event pay ranges from $18 to $25 per hour plus 100% share of the TIPS! (depending on event and role) Events are typically scheduled weeks in advance and last anywhere between 4 and 8 hours per night (plus setup/teardown time for event) making this a perfect opportunity for a seasoned Event Chef to pickup prep hours during the day and work events on nights and weekends. The Event Chef will be directly responsible for their scheduled event. Chefs will be responsible for supervision, management and direction of the culinary staff at events. The Chef will also sometimes be asked to coordinate with event coordinators, servers, and at-times even the customer. Must have solid experience preparing and serving plated events and have a love of high quality cuisine. The position ranges from 4-5 days of prep work weekly and 4-8 scheduled events per month, depending on bookings. The event shifts are generally nights and weekends ranging from 4-8 hours per event. EVENT EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSMust have experience with off-site catering procedures, standards, and events Must perform professionally under pressure & have ability to lead well Must maintain a safe & clean working environment Must have strong team work skills, great communication, and a collaborative sense of success Lead food production for off-site catered events Coordinate with culinary event staffing on scheduling Supervision of food production quality and preparation Attend the pre-event meeting and actively communicate the appropriate event information to the culinary staff in a timely and efficient manner Maintain premium food quality and presentation Clear concise written and verbal communication skills Provide a hands-on approach to learning Ability to build morale and spirit through an atmosphere of teamwork Instill a customer service attitude in all staff Project a calm, organized approach in all situations Excellent time management skills Actively assume responsibility and accountability for the culinary operation Positive approach to following and enforcing company policies and procedures
