Job Description

The Inside Sales Representative plays a key role in supporting the Food Sales Division's efforts to deliver against company sales and profitability goals. This role works collaboratively with Sales/Marketing management to deliver exceptional value to customers through an assigned portfolio of customers, new business lead generation/management, and facilitating overall Division success through assigned projects and responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Handles all incoming sales prospect inquiries for the Food Division. Will either handle these inquires directly or qualify them for hand off to Division Managers
  • Utilizes syndicated data, internet research, and other industry resources, to assist in the development of plans that identify new business prospects and execute against them. Will handle identification and initial contact of prospects, then either manage them through to completion or hand off larger identified prospects to Division Managers
  • Proactively manages a portfolio of assigned customers to identify additional opportunities, understand their business, assess potential, and support their needs
  • Works collaboratively with Division Managers to support their strategic accounts and build appropriate support for the Inside Sales accounts
  • Coordinates and follows up as assigned, with key stakeholders across the organization (i.e. Quality, Finance, Tech, Inventory, Customer Service, etc…) to ensure the needs of the Division are being met
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Management

Requirements

  • 4-year college degree or equivalent experience (Food Science background is a plus)
  • 2 or more years related sales or customer service experience
  • Technical/science aptitude (food ingredients knowledge is preferred)
  • Ability to travel up to 10% -15% may be required
