Job Description

Job Summary

The Lead Cook supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by preparing and serving food to patients, cafeteria and catered functions. Oversees staff in the absence of the supervisors during the a.m. and p.m. shifts.

Job Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or GED
  • Two years of experience in food service, mostly in food preparation
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Working knowledge of kitchen equipment including appropriate use, care and sanitation
  • Yavapai County or other AZ County Food Worker OR ANSI approved Food Handler OR Professional Food Manager certificate within 30 days of employment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Healthcare food service experience
  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of modified diets
  • ANSI approved Professional Food Manager certification
