Company Description HCI Catering is the Manhattan area's premier catering company representing Coco Bolos, Cox BBQ, JC's BBQ & Grill and Powercat Sports Grill! We offer delivery, and full-service on-site catering, as well as event planning - with complete customization according to our client's needs. Our successful team caters to groups of 10 up to 7,000. Job description HCI is now hiring a Catering Captain to join our friendly and successful team! We provide on-the-job training and on-going support. To be a successful captain you will work as a team leader among the catering staff, providing support to the team and management. A Catering Captain must be comfortable talking with and taking great care of clients, creating written communication via email to inform catering team members of plans for events and follow up reviews of event results, planning execution of service steps for events, and handling basic catering duties at events. Most events take place around the KSU campus and in the Manhattan area with shifts typically lasting 4 - 8 hours on average. Pay starts at $19.00 per hour with automatic pay raises every 90 days! Responsibilities and Duties Planning, assigning, and directing work for catering staff before, during and after events. Gather and receive equipment, food, and supplies, as needed preparing for events. Complies with Health Department rules and regulations. Inventory control: before, during, and after events. Tending to guests' requests, questions, and concerns. Qualifications Punctual & reliable; this sets the tone for the team. Must have hospitality Experience: 1-2 years preferred. Must have leadership experience: 1-2 years preferred in a similar role. Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Comfortable with walking, standing, or bending for long durations. Must adhere to a clean uniform policy: Black pants, HCI Catering Shirt, Comfortable CLOSED TOE Shoes. Hairstyles must follow local health ordinances. Hair shoulder length or longer must be restrained in a ponytail. Loose hair should not fall around the face as to prevent contact with food or surfaces. Must have reliable transportation and a current Driver's License. Must have a working cellular phone. Must be able to work well with, direct, and motivate members of a team in a work setting. Must be able to follow specific instructions from venue, clients, and the Catering Coordinator's planning notes.
