This position is for the school year. Prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods in quantity at an assigned school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition; train and provide work direction to others. This position is for 5 hours per day and 170 student instructional days, 4 holidays, 5 extended days for a total of 179 days per year. Contracted days will be adjusted depending upon start date. (Considered full time with benefits - see below) Must have a high school diploma or equivalent and provide a copy to HR upon recommentation to hire. New employees to the district may bring in up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience. (NOTE: It will be the responsibility of the applicant hired to submit the BCPS verification of experience form to their prior employer to complete and return to HR.) Step 0: $13.97 per hour Step 10: $16.67 per hour Although Classified positions are paid on an hourly rate, salary is set up on a year long contract and divided by the remaining number of paychecks. Acts as a liaison with the Park Safety Department. Assists Area Managers, Chef and Supervision in completing accident reports when needed. Works hand in hand with inspectors from both EverClean and Department of Health when on site. Prepares any needed reports and Action Plans to correct areas of deficiency. Be ServeSafe Certified or obtain certification within 30 days of employment. Verifies food safety by evaluation different aspects of the environment including, but not limited to food handler training certifications, qualified person-in-charge, associate hygiene, Food handling and storage, product identification and content, expiration dates, cooking, holding and refrigeration temperatures, facility and equipment maintenance and cleanliness, disposal methods, food borne illness risks, presence of insects/rodents and other health hazards. Collects data and prepares reports for regular review with the various members of the Foods and Hotel management team.
