Work location 4201 Lougheed Highway, Burnaby BC V5C 3Y6 Position: Hotel Front Desk Supervisor Number of Vacancies: 1 Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Year around Wage: $24.59/hour for 35 to 40 hours per week Benefits: Extended Medical, Dental, Vision Life Insurance Accident & Sickness Disability Insurance Job Duties: Supervise, coordinate, and oversee the daily operations of the front desk team. Ensure Front Desk staff follow the standard hotel procedures and provide excellent customer service to our guests. Assist in hiring front desk staff and train them in job duties, safety procedures and company policies. Establish work schedules and procedures, and coordinate activities with other work units or departments. Ensure smooth operation of computer systems, equipment, and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work. Oversee Inventory and coordinate the ordering of front desk supplies. Enforces all cash handling, check cashing, and credit policies Resolve work-related problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports to the General Manager Ensures each guest is provided with the best possible experience, utilizing tools and techniques provided by the Guest Service Manager. Fields guests complaints and resolve all guest matters quickly, efficiently, and courteously through partnering and communicating with other departments. Ensure front office and hotel logbooks are updated and actioned as needed. Ensure that there is effective communication and coordination among all the front office agents/night auditors. Conduct performance reviews and performance management when required. Complete daily checklists and clearly communicate through daily pass-on with colleagues. Ensure all front desk staff have current knowledge of all room categories, room rates, packages, promotions, local area and other general product knowledge necessary to perform their duties. Remains calm and alert during emergencies, heavy workloads, and other complications. Be an ambassador for the hotel Skills Requirement Completion of Secondary School Education. Completion of a college or other program related to hospitality or a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Hotel Clerk is required. Fluency in English Previous supervisory experience is an asset. Good customer service skills. Good communication skills written and verbal. The ability to demonstrate great teamwork. Ability to communicate efficiently between the Front Office Department and all other hotel departments to assure the highest level of Guest satisfaction. Ability to work under pressure.
