Job Description

The Food Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the safe service of meals to the residents and guests of the community. This includes adherence to all food safety and sanitation standards, quality control, general knowledge of menu production, employee training, and supervision of food service employees. JOB DESCRIPTION Provides continuous direction, training, and oversight to the Food Service Staff. Ensure the safe holding and service of food in the front of the house Coordinate and oversee closing of Dining on nights and weekends Assist the Dining Manager with recruitment and new hire orientation. Assist with the development of training programs and maintaining training records. Assist the Dining Manager in evaluating employee performance and complete evaluation forms. Develops and maintains professional relationships with all University Towers employees and the University Assesses jobs and tasks to prevent injuries on a continuous basis. At service lines, ensures consistent portion control of all menu items. Organize cooling and storage of leftover food for donation or reuse. Works with the Dining Management team to identify accurate production numbers and make adjustments as needed. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with food manufacturers, suppliers and vendors. Utilizing budget numbers from the Dining Manager, creates a labor shell that allows the operation to achieve operational goals while working within budget. Ensures Dining Center is clean and presentable Assists in the administration of meal plan software, ecommerce site (Shopify) and the University Towers Dining menu webpage. Evaluate systems data and update dining menus on a weekly basis. Utilize MS Office suite as a primary means to communicate, develop spreadsheets, memos, and presentations. Assist with creation of PT employee schedules and maintains employee schedules for distribution via Requires ServSafe Manager Certification or willingness to acquire within the first 60 days of employment. This position requires night and weekend availability. Current schedule is set as Tuesday-Friday 2pm-9pm, Saturday 9am-9pm. Minimum 2+ years of supervisory or management experience in Food Service, preferably a university food service setting. Compensation is based on geographic location and individual pay decisions will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. Corporate Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for an annual performance bonus that is based on individual and company performance. Onsite Property Positions: In addition to the base salary, may be eligible for a discretionary weekly, monthly and/or quarterly bonus based on budget.
