You are an energetic and enthusiastic assistant to the Chef in the production and fabrication of food products. You are excited to be a part of kitchen preparation, banquet cooking, and dining room cooking. You have a desire to learn, develop new skills, and work with our culinary leadership team to create menus that reflect seasonal availability and the concept of the restaurant. -Develop your knowledge and skills in various cooking procedures and methods
-Have the opportunity to grow skills in using knives and various kitchen equipment
-Recreate menu items for our restaurant and our many banquets and events
-Develop consistency in cooking and presentation
-Minimize food waste through cross-utilization
-Setup workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipment
-Prepare ingredients to use in cooking (chopping and peeling vegetables, cutting meat)
-Use standard practices in kitchen sanitization
-Store all food and other items properly
-Take ownership of the quality of ingredients
-Possess an active Food Handler's Certification or the ability to earn it
-At least 1-year cooking and food handling experience.
-An availability and willingness to work a variety of day/night and weekend shifts
-Demonstrated strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
-Ability to be on your feet for long periods of time; shifts can be 8 hours or longer
-Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
