Housekeeper / Cook (Upper West Side, NY) Division: Domestic Hospitality Ref ID: R Location: New York, NY 10023 Salary: $80,000 - $85,000 Schedule: Monday - Friday
Hours: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM
Travel: The candidate will potentially be asked to Martha's Vineyard in the summer with the principal for a select few weeks or one week. No travel is needed for summer 2023.
Benefits: 2 weeks paid time off, sick days, holiday pay, and Bonus commensurate with experience and based on performance.
Job Description A private family in the UWS, NY is looking to hire a take-charge, detailed housekeeper who is able to work without supervision for one principal. Candidate must be comfortable working in a large private home with a teenager and dog. The residence is a multi-level townhouse (4 bedrooms). Experience working in a townhouse environment is preferred since the hired candidate will oversee that everything in the house is in good working condition. The position involves all the basics of high-end housekeeping such as caring for antiques, silver, marble, etc. with the knowledge of which products to use to care for each item. Seeking a very organized self-starter that is willing and able to develop their own working system for the entire house utilizing a housekeeper's manual as a guideline.
Responsibilities: - All housekeeping duties and management of certain service providers at the house
- Being a team player with a great personality as you will be working with other staff (personal assistant)
- Ability to cook simple healthy meals for the family
- Housekeeping/cleaning/laundry/ironing/steaming
- Packing/unpacking for trips/holidays
- Pet care for 1 dog (for future - when the family gets a dog)
- Food and supply shopping, and organizing
- Running errands as needed
Requirements - Excellent references are required from current and previous employers
- Minimum 5 years of related work experience in a private home or estate
- Very strong fluency in/command of the English language
- Great cooking skills (family-style healthy cooking)
- Must be hands-on with a good attitude, high energy, and strong work ethic
- Motivated Self-Starter
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
- Comfortable working in a home with pets & children
- A valid driver's license is a plus (NOT REQUIRED)
- Valid United States work authorization
