Parks/Twin Falls Resort State Park/Wyoming County - Under the general supervision of the Twin Falls Resort State Park Superintendent, performs advanced level work, overseeing and coordinating all Golf Pro Shop operations at Twin Falls Resort State Park. Facilities include a Pro Shop, 18-hole golf course, practice facilities, and golf cart rentals. Must possess and employ a thorough and professional knowledge of all facets of golf course operations including, but not limited to, retail golf shop operations, golf business management, golf marketing, customer relations, golf spokesperson, and all associated areas involved in managing a modern professional golf program. Candidates who possess a demonstrable turf management certification and/or knowledge of turf maintenance equipment, chemical treatment options, landscaping, and maintenance practice may be given preference. May work with golf consultants on specific issues facing the operation of the course at Twin Falls Resort State Park. Will work to develop and market golf programs to boost both local play as well as tourist rounds. Will foster a cooperative and mutually beneficial relationship between Pro Shop, Golf Maintenance, and other internal Twin Falls departments. Procure and market Twin Falls Golf merchandise for retail sales, as well as ensuring compliance with all purchasing and revenue reporting policies. Will attend general staff meetings, as well as conduct the same for Twin Falls golf staff. Will prepare correspondence and maintain daily reports of operation. Maintain golf cart gas, oil inventories and reports, and administers the Golf Cart Rental Contract with the contractor. Employee is required to utilize numerous computer software programs to process payroll and scheduling of subordinates, generate reports and communicate electronically. Must have knowledge, skills and ability to conduct business in an electronic networked environment. Will supervise the work of full-time and hourly Pro Shop staff, including scheduling, evaluating performance, counseling, progressive discipline, and training. Will interview, screen, and recommend potential employees. Will manage the Twin Falls Golf Volunteer program. Must be able to work independently, putting into practice established instructions, policies, and methods. Overnight travel and/or a varying work schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required. Will be the public face of golf at Twin Falls Resort State Park. Training: Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university. OR Substitution: Experience as described below may substitute for the required training at a rate of one (1) year of experience for every thirty semester hours of required training. AND Experience: Four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in travel promotion or marketing with a state travel agency or other travel-related business or in marketing, hotel management, golf operations, restaurant management and/or lead work, spa operations or state park management. OR Substitution: Two (2) years of the required experience will be waived if the Bachelor's degree is in tourism, marketing, hotel management or parks and recreation.
