Job Description

The Senior Manager - Team Lead is responsible for driving the Engineering squads towards completing the backlog, leading the development of the product/platform features, and leading the daily activities of the squad. The Senior Manager - Team Lead focus on complex products and may be the line manager to several manager level Team Leads.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Attend all squad level ceremonies and act as the leader of the Software Development Engineers (SDE's) of the respective squad (only if no TL reports present)
  • Partner with PM (in a Product squad) to own the entire lifecycle of the backlog grooming process
  • Lead the output (quality and efficiency) of external vendor squads to ensure they are delivering to the standards we require at McDonald's
  • Ensure the code development is in line with the architectural, quality and security standards and best practices
  • Maintain documentation standards for all software shipped by the squad
  • Answer technical questions from the squads and stay accountable for technical solutioning
  • Accountable for deployment of new features including QA, push to production and defect remediation
  • For complex products, Senior manager level Team Leads can act as manager to several manager level Team Leads
  • Act as the mentor to junior Team Leads

Qualifications

  • Significant software development experience, with knowledge of Agile software development process
  • Experience partnering with team members across an at-scale, complex, global matrixed organizational setup.
  • Excellent understanding of the latest development technologies
  • Enterprise Infrastructure knowledge
  • Experience with code refactoring, design patterns, design-driven development, continuous deployment, highly scalable applications, and application security
  • Guide in pair programming, continuous integration, test-driven development & incremental design
  • Experience in Agile Development, application of Agile techniques and delivery practices
  • Promotes adoption of Agile methodologies to secure outcome-driven approach in product teams
  • Strong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical decisions to non-technical partners.

Team /Squad management

1-4 squads (or TLs) of 7-10 FTE SDE's as day-to-day reports in the squad (SDE reports to Delivery office
