Job Description

McDonald's seeks a senior manager for its U.S. Enterprise Communications team. This position will support the storytelling effort to strategically advance the U.S. business narrative among key audiences and mobilize the voice of key senior U.S. leaders to drive engagement, understanding of key business priorities and a common vision of success.

Role is based in Chicago, IL and reports directly to the Director, US Enterprise Communications. You will be a member of the broader North American Impact team.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implementintegrated, communications strategies for key U.S. business prioritiesthat span internal and external audiences.
  • Oversee materials such as partner messages and correspondence, talking points, presentations, web and social copy, assets for owned channels, speeches, etc.
  • Lead efforts to shape, set and deliver against metrics
  • Support the proactive storytelling effort tobring the U.S. narrative to life
  • Lead and drivekey System convenings and messagessuch as Town Halls, earnings messages, etc.
  • Partner with the Director, US Enterprise Communications and the broader U.S. Enterprise Communications team to help build and implement theoverall U.S. leadership communications strategy and materialsacross key collaborators
  • Coordinate teamto ensure coverage and preparation for reactive issues and proactive pushes
  • Advise business leaderson communications plans and messaging, driving understanding, alignment and action against short and long-term priorities
  • Collaborate with Communications and cross-functional partnersto find opportunities to proactively communicate on enterprise priorities, address incoming questions from partners and drive consistency
  • Provide people managementand help grow the skills and career of direct reports

Qualifications

Experience in a corporate communications role, either in-house or at an agency. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, strategic storyteller with the following attributes:

  • Deep communications expertise with internal and external experience and a shown ability to craft compelling stories.
  • Natural storyteller with excellent written and oral communications skills, including an ability to convey sophisticated issues in a clear and concise manner to a variety of audiences.
  • Self-starter with strong sense of initiative, focused on results; ability to lead multiple, simultaneous projects and, at times, within ambiguous and undefined circumstances.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly build trust and influence with leaders and collaborators at all levels.
  • The ability to thrive in fast-paced environments, while being flexible, collaborative and deadline-driven.
