SNOWCREST RANCH
The Snowcrest Ranch is a 38,000-acre property located in the mountain foothills of Southwest Montana in the upper Ruby River Valley. Recreational opportunities and wildlife are abundant. The Ranch raises genetically unique Castle Rock bison and grazes around 1,200-1,400 head. Progressive grazing includes Management-intensive Grazing, rest rotation, and Holistic Management practices. Bison handling is frequent, and the crew strives to be stockmen and grass managers first and foremost. The Ranch ecosystem is diverse, including 19 miles of sinuous river weaving through the lowlands and the Snowcrest mountains at over 10,000’ in elevation within the operational ranch boundaries. The Ranch headquarters is 19 miles from the nearest town with a K-6 school, post office, and gas station (Alder). K-12 school and groceries are 29 miles (Sheridan). The nearest large grocery stores and conveniences are in Dillon (1.25 hours) or Bozeman (2 hours).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Snowcrest Ranch has a guest services operation which operates during the Summer and Fall. During these seasons, guests participate in fishing and hunting activities. We take great pride in providing the owners and guests with first-class service that requires landscaping and building facility maintenance to keep the property in pristine condition. The Groundskeeper is responsible for lawncare, landscaping and property maintenance duties. The Groundskeeper will also assist with general ranch work.

COMPETENCIES AND CHARACTERISTICS
To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Two years related experience and/or training, preferably with carpentry, general maintenance, plumbing and/or landscaping is highly preferred. General construction, renovation, building maintenance and repair experience is highly preferred. Previous experience with riding lawn mower, weed trimmer and small engine operation is highly preferred, but is not required. Heavy equipment operation and landscape design experience is highly preferred. First Aid/CPR training is highly preferred.
ACCOMMODATIONS
Housing will be provided in a 3-bedroom, 2-bathroom house. The employee may be subject to sharing the house with 2 other employees in which the common areas will be shared. The house is partially furnished with a kitchen and laundry machines. Basic utilities will be provided by the company, including water, power, propane, local landline telephone, and internet access.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The employee must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. The employee must be able to write routine reports and correspondence.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
The employee must be able to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. The employee must be able to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
REASONING ABILITY
The employee must be able to solve practical problems. The employee must be able to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES / LICENSES
If the position requires vehicle operation, the employee must possess a valid Driver’s License or be able to obtain one within 30 days of employment. The employee’s driving records must meet the standards and requirements of the Company and the Company's insurance carrier.

The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
Snowcrest Ranch is located in a remote location. A ranch radio will be provided for communication and is required every day for work. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be alert and aware of dangers that are present while working on a ranch and its surroundings.
