Position Summary

Flynn Restaurant Group seeks an experienced Real Estate Paralegal to support its dynamic and growing organization. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Real Estate, the Real Estate Paralegal will play a key role supporting the various leasing, construction, and franchise operations of the Real Estate and Legal Departments. This position will be based in either our Independence, OH Support Center or our Overland Park, KS Support Center, with the flexibility to work remotely up to 2 days per week.


  • Support broad range of real estate projects, including leasing and franchise operations.
  • Perform due diligence for purchase and sales transactions and leasing, including review of title, surveys, and Phase I reports.
  • Support Lease Administration team and liaise with in-house and outside real estate counsel to track document execution and corresponding deadlines; coordinate execution with appropriate signatory (electronic and wet), coordinate notarizing as needed.
  • Analyze lease provisions, respond to landlord and stakeholder's requests regarding tenant and landlord rights, obligations, and expense issues.
  • Gather and verify information for Tenant Estoppel Certificates and Subordination and Non-Disturbance Agreements (SDNAs); prepare initial drafts for legal review; track process from receipt to full execution.
  • Work with Lease Accounting team to track notice dates and draft renewal letters as needed.
  • Prepare preliminary lease drafts and written correspondence to landlords.
  • Support Franchise Agreement process, including reviewing Franchise Agreement amendments.
  • Track post execution lease documents including Memorandum of Lease, SDNAs, Commencement Date Agreements, and record if necessary.
  • Work with business and construction team to gather and verify construction exhibits for leases and remodels, including scope of work, site plans, and drawings.
  • Support tracking of Tenant Improvement Allowance payments, deadlines, lien releases and required documentation to ensure full and prompt payment.

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Paralegal certificate or experience a plus, but not required
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in relevant field

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to hear and communicate in person, over the phone, and via videoconference platforms.
